Neighborhoods

Welcome to the neighborhood! The most important thing you need to know is that we have about 20 turkeys as neighbors. No joke. You'll get to see them emerge from the protected woods behind the house as they start their daily walk around the neighborhood. Sometimes, they like flying up on the roof! They're the loudest neighbors, for sure, which just means it's a very quiet neighborhood. The turkeys aren't the only wildlife in the woods. If you're up early enough in the morning, you'll see a few deer 😊

Sightseeing

If you're looking to get outside in nature, just head West to the He-Nis-Ra Trails! During the winter months, it's a place to go cross-country skiing. During the summer and Fall, it's a great place for a walk or bike ride through the trees.

Running/Biking

I hope you brought your running shoes! The Fox River Trail is 20 miles of beautiful sights stretching from downtown Green Bay to the Brown/Calumet County line along a former rail corridor. From the Trailhead, approximately 10.5 miles of the urban section of the trail is asphalt-paved. This trail is also great for family walks or bike rides! It runs along the Fox River for the top half, so plenty of miles to watch the ships sail by. Watch out for deer!

Food Scene

What's Wisconsin famous for? Beer! One of the best breweries in the state just so happens to be a couple of minutes away. So, if you're looking for a Wisconsin style night out, check out Badger State Brewery. If you like dark beers and coffee, I highly recommend the Buzzy Badger Coffee Stout.

North Midwest Weather

Obviously, it's going to be cold in the winter. The snow is beautiful and fun, but pack accordingly. There are extra mittens, hats, and scarves by the front door, if needed. It is humid in the summer, so it does get hot! Bring your swimwear, shorts, and flip-flops. Don't forget the sunscreen and bug spray!
