World famous Eden project is only 5 minutes away from the farm. The biomes are an amazing wonder and they also have events throughout the year such as concerts with big acts and ice-skating in the winter.

Lovely seaside town, ferry trips, restaurants, pubs, and a great regatta during the summer.

Beaches

Polkerris is a small enclosed beach perfect for families, it has a harbour for jumping off at high tide and a beach has a shop with paddle boards to hire and beach toys. A pub and a restaurant both with great food and amazing views.

Carlyon Bay is a large local beach that has lots of pop-ups during the summer, including a bar, a beach shop, pasty’s, pizzas, mussels, cake and more. It’s a man-made beach so the sand is quite rough and coarse, and the shallow shore of the sea drops suddenly when swimming so not perfect for young kids.

Par beach is great for dog walking. It’s one of the only beaches that allows dogs year round, which means it isn’t great for sunbathing or picnics etc, but its a nice long beach to walk a dog or go for a stroll across the dunes.

Our Favourite Restaurants

New inn is our local pub. The restaurant is great and the garden area is massive and lovely in the sun!
The New Inn is our local pub, within walking distance to the farm (although 10 minutes up the hill with no pavement or streetlights so bring your torch! It’s got a large beer garden with space for kids to play, a good restaurant and in the summer often has bands and a bbq on too. *photos from The New Inn page.

The Longstore is one of our favourite restaurants and definitely where we go for birthdays and special occasions! It’s known for its amazing steaks, especially large sharing cuts and local produce, as well as an extensive wine and cocktail menu. They have a wine & tapas bar downstairs called the cellar which is also great. *photos from the longstore page

Springtide is the sister restaurant of the Longstore, instead of steaks it specialises in delicious local seafood and a stunning outdoor terrace with harbour views if the weather is nice.

The Duchy is a beautiful plant nursery with a large garden centre style shop. Although expensive it’s worth a look around. They serve delicious breakfasts in their new orangery and have just opened a new restaurant. They also have a big tipi in the garden where they serve lunches and coffees.

Driving

We are situated in the middle of Cornwall so almost all of Cornwall is accessible by car roughly an hour away. We’re only 45 minutes from the North coast of Newquay so a day trip for surfing is easily done.

Trains

We are only a couple minutes drive from the train station of Par, which is on the mainline from Penzance to London. From par is also the only direct train line into Newquay!

Taxis

Although there are lots of local taxi company’s, if you are used to being in a city with Uber and plenty of taxis available at all hour of the night you may miss out. During the busy months especially Friday and Saturdays nights it can be hard to get a taxi so I’d always recommend trying to plan and book in advance if you need one.
