The cafe and restaurant on the first floor of the Park Beach Surf Lifesaving Club (Surf Club Road, Coffs Harbour) is the best coffee with a view in town. The cafe/restuarant overlooks Park Beach and the Solitary Islands Marine Park. If you're lucky you'll see pods of dolphins passing along the coast. They have a delicious lunch menu and bar also, definitely worth a visit. The surf club isn't pet friendly and there's no reliable shade in the parking lot.

If you’re up for a bit of a hike, the waterhole offers crystal clear swimming at the bottom of the falls and it’s possible to climb under the falls from the water. The falls are free-falling from about 10m above, plunging into a deep pool below. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the challenging rock-hopping walk, but remember to take your rubbish home with you as there are no facilities at the falls.

On lead dog friendly beach. Can be a bit eroded/sloped at times with stones but still nice on the southern end to walk. It's not a large beach either but usually really quiet if you want a moment to yourself. Sometimes in the week you'll have the beach all to yourself and your furry friend. A tip - at the southern end you can continue along a small path just above the beach/rocks. You can walk all the way up to the boat storage shed. When winds are blowing strong from the south this is a little sheltered corner great for swimming.

Offering 4WD tracks, mountain bike trails, walking tracks and scenic spots from picnicking, swimming and birdwatching. There is also a beautiful 1km walk to Bangalore Falls. There are two ways to get to Bangalore Falls/Bindarri NP - either through the 4WD tracks at the end of Diaryville Road, or if you're in a 2WD car, from Ulong. Follow GPS routes accordingly and if you're not sure, just call or msg me. Hidden away in the mountains, you'll barely see another soul at Bindarri, yet you'll see plenty of local wildlife. Bindarri NP is considered a biodiversity hotspot due to the number of rare and threatened species that are found here such as the palm orchid, fish bone fern and southern quassia. Listen for lyrebirds calling in the rainforest and watch from swamp wallabies and red-necked pademelons in the forest. The deep gorges, cascading waterfalls and lush forests of Bindarri National Park are the traditional lands of the Gumbaynggirr people. The park is named after the Gumbaynggirr word 'Bindarray', which means 'many creeks'. Many Aboriginal sites have been identified as places used by local Aboriginal people for camping, tool-making, ceremonies and dreaming stories.

It's about an hour and 10 minutes drive from Tallowwood Cottage, but a stunning attraction and worth the drive to see the ancient Gondwana Rainforest and beautiful waterfalls. Take your walking shoes and swimmers, there is a lot to see on the walking tracks and you'll want to cool off in summer. Bellingen is also along the way so you can make a whole day of it if you start early in the day. Stop off at the Federal Hotel in Bellingen for lunch and head up the mountain to Dorrigo in the afternoon. Just a note, the road up Dorrigo mountain is very windy, so be mindful if you get car sick.
