We love a chat with the winemaker and enjoying a bottle of McLaren Vale’s finest at this truly memorable cellar door. Our preference for a cellar door experience is one that’s genuine and earthy, where the wine speaks for itself. This is why we love our visits to Samuel’s Gorge. The Grenache is a must and is best enjoyed outside the winery’s 1853 farm shed, with a cheese platter, overlooking the Onkaparinga River National Park.

We prefer to walk over the causeway rather than purchasing the over priced tickets for the horse-drawn tram.

Saying hi to the wise, old Clydesdale horses that pull the trams across to the island, to watching the albatrosses flying over the pristine waters of Encounter Bay, a visit to Granite Island is a must. We prefer to walk over the causeway rather than purchasing the over priced tickets for the horse-drawn tram.
Epic kids play spaces, with plenty to explore for toddlers through to 10 year olds. Our kids love our visits here and they rate it as one of the best playgrounds in SA.

Riding the Cockle Train from Middleton to Victor Harbor is something we do often, as it’s truly wholesome, old fashioned fun. Fingers crossed you get the old steam engine!
