Downtown has an plaza with towering trees, surrounded by a wide variety of restaurants, wine bars, a brewery, coffee shops, vintage stores, artisanal ice cream, homemade candy/chocolate, a small arcade, and even a quaint one-room theater. Idyllwild is untouched by major chain stores, and instead, boasts Mom-and-Pop shops full of hand-made or curated products. With fine dining, art galleries, sports pubs, mountain biking, fishing, and breath-taking hikes you will soon realize Idyllwild is a gem of a town that offers the best of all worlds.

Fine Italian dining with wonderful service and a beautiful back patio. You cannot beat the wood-fire-made personal pizzas or anything with the Bolognese sauce.

This is a beautiful trail! On a clear day, you can see the ocean. As for all outdoor activities, before you go be sure to get a day pass from the Ranger Station, the Village Market, or other locations in town.

Fishing information: Rainbow trout may be planted by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Their fish planting schedule is available online

The lake boasts healthy populations of Bass, Blue Gill and Catfish and privately stocked Rainbow and Lightning Trout from November to April each year. The Marina Store and our front Market both carry a wide variety of bait and tackle, and knowledgeable staff can direct you to the best spots to fish from. Rent pontoon, fishing boats, or kayaks. Enjoy a refreshing swim at the Splashing Eagle Swim Zone from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Eat at at the Lake Hemet cafe or Market.
