Anitkabir

Anıtkabir is the most important landmark of Ankara, where the mausoleum of Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, is located. Anıtkabir, in order to reveal the difference of the newly established Republic of Turkey from previous civilizations; adopted a national and modern architectural style. In the building where symmetry and monumentality are at the forefront, cut stone material was used. There is also a museum that can be visited here. In this museum, there are artifacts about the life of Ataruk and the story of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. Anıtkabir is open every day, while the museum is open every day except Mondays.

Ethnography Museum in Ankara is the first museum of the Republic of Turkey constructed upon instructions of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The building designed by Arif Hikmet Koyunoğlu, one of the most important architects in the Republic Period, has the characteristics of the eras from the first age until the period of Republic, but it also bears the traces of Seljuk and Ottoman architecture. The statue of Atatürk built in 1927 and placed in front of the building, bears the distinction of being the first statue built in Turkey.

You can enjoy the view while having a drink or eating breakfast at the historical And Café in Kaleici. In the evening you can also go to the concerts at the Museum of Archaeology and Art in this region.
