Sightseeing

4WD suggested but not required as we made it there with a 2WD. Beautiful waterfall during spring/summer months . short easy approx 1.3 mile hike to the falls. Directions to Bassi falls found using Sarah B's directions on yelp but know that we didn't see any signs for Bassi Falls from the main road. The 2nd Bassi Falls sign once you're on the dirt road is there. Take 50 East and past Placerville and Apple Hill Turn left onto Ice House Rd. it's just a turn off the highway (slow down when nearing Ice House Road for the turn), Drive on Ice House Rd. for appox. 16.6miles (set odometer to help), you will cross a small bridge over Silver Creek and the turn will be Next. Turn Right onto the Unmarked Dirt Road, it's dirt, but there is a sign that says Bassi Falls after you turn onto the dirt road. Shortly after, Turn Left onto another small dirt road, there is another sign that says Bassi Falls. Travel on this dirt for about a mile or so (it will dead into the marked trail head)...park anywhere you can find a little spot. If you travel all the way to the trail head I suggest that you have 4 wheel drive because it gets pretty bumpy. The trail is well marked and once you get to the waterfall there is plenty of places you can explore! Many people bring their dogs and kids to play in the small pools of water from the falls. This hike is only for the late spring/ summer time & early spring there will still be snow up there. Parking is limited. Maybe 10 total at the trailhead with another 10 just around the corner from the trailhead. The trail is easy to follow until you reach the granite. At that point just listen for the falls, some people have stacked rocks to keep you going d=generally straight from the dirt trail.
