Where to eat in Craig-y-Don

There are lots of places to eat within five minutes walk of The Studio
Bakery which sells gorgeous patisserie goodies along with artisan bread, croissants, coffee and pastries to eat in or take away, a couple of minutes walk from The Studio. The cakes are amazing! Recently started offering a full cooked breakfast, which is of a very high standard.

Nice, cosy and friendly little café a minute walk away from The Studio. Good for coffee and cake. I usually like to go for a coffee and a teacake. A few tables outside to people watch!

Dylans is less than five minutes walk from The Studio and is on the seafront as you walk towards the centre of Llandudno. Great for a cocktail outside overlooking the sea. Food wise Dylans is good for pizza, fish and they have a nice speciality menu that is seasonal. Can get very busy in the Summer

I try not to eat too many fish and chips but this is as good as you will get. Two minutes walk from The Studio down a back street behind the promenade, takeaway only. Go and sit on the prom with your fish and chips on a warm evening but keep an eye out for the seagulls! Open 5pm until 8pm, closed Sunday and Monday.

If you feel the need for a takeaway kebab, pizza or burger and chips then this place is one minute walk from The Studio and is open until midnight. Chicken tikka kebab with pitta bread, salad and garlic mayo is a late night draw on the way home from the theatre or pub, but it needs putting together, which is a bit of a pain. I find the pizzas a bit greasy but my son seems to like them!

Takeaway Indian food. This is a very decent Indian takeaway, two minutes walk from The Studio. Closes at 10pm. I can recommend the chicken tikka patia, which is hot, sweet and spicy with a peshwari nan.

This is a very cosy taproom with a table available outside, one minute walk from The Studio. If you want to get to know the locals then go there. Can get very busy, however the atmosphere is great, expect to socialise here. Next door to the taproom Reme has opened a Spanish deli. Currently Reme serves tapas boards to customers in the taproom at weekends (best to book your board) and lovely Spanish cheeses and meats in the day. Reme will also serve good coffee and toasties.

I am reluctant to mention this place as I love it and don't want to share it, but that is selfish. Have a look around the art gallery but then head upstairs to the café. In my opinion in the top two of best coffee in Llandudno. Noting particularly special food wise but it is certainly acceptable and if you want to escape the usual touristy places on the high street this is a good place to start. Have a look in the shop on your way out.

This seasonal café sits just above the West Shore in Llandudno. Perfect after a walk along the coastal path from the West Shore to Deganwy and back. Closes at 4pm and is only open in the Summer. If you are sitting outside, be aware of the seagulls as they will try and steal your food.

This is a very popular eatery and is open all day and into the evening. Traditional British food and serves alcohol. Can't book a table as it is queue and wait. It gets very busy and is very popular with visitors.

This is a hotel with a restaurant open to the public by the pier. This is one of my favourite places; they manage to achieve a relaxing but opulent feel. They are currently serving a set three course menu which is good value for money. The best part is sitting in the lounge area with a coffee and a brandy after your meal.

A luxury hotel on the outskirts of Llandudno, a couple of minutes drive from the The Studio. The restaurant has been awarded AA 3 Rosette and smart dress is requested. They also offer afternoon tea, which is lovely after treatment in The Spa

Nice setting for this restaurant run by Bryn Williams' team of chefs and awarded the Bib Gourmand by Michelin. Sea front location in Colwyn Bay, which is approximately 7 minutes drive from The Studio. The views from the restaurant are stunning, lacks atmosphere but the food is good

Very popular pub that serves food, located in a back street off Mostyn Street opposite Sainsburys. If weather allows sit outside at the front as this is my favourite part of the cottage loaf. The acoustics in the conservatory gets really noisy, try to stick to the old part of the pub or outside.

This is a lovely pub and eatery just outside Llandudno in the village of Glanwyddan. Despite some renovations to enlarge and modernise it still retains a typical cosy Welsh pub feel. The food is very nice and the Sunday lunch is certainly worth the 5 minute drive.

This is an American style smokehouse near Rhos-on-Sea. This is a small chain of restaurants that are dotted around the North of England and there is one in Chester. The outside area is nice and has heaters. Rhos-on-Sea is the next stop from Llandudno if you head out of Llandudno along the coastal road heading East (not the A470 to the A55 way). Basically turn right onto the prom from The Studio and follow the coast. Rhos is full of cafes and some nice little shops, worth a visit for a few hours. The promenade in Rhos runs all the way to Old Colwyn and there are ice cream and drinks kiosks along the way.
