Mennonite run and very professionally stocked with wholesome foods, baking supplies, ice cream, fresh bakery items, and amazing deli - sandwiches are made to order, and there is rarely a wait even though they stay very busy. Closed on Sundays. Call to see if they are open if you are going just to the Bread Basket, but great to tie this into a trip to Floyd (just past Floyd, on your way to Christiansburg) (540) 745-5382

Great hiking area about 20 minutes from our place. Put it in your GPS to get there! The view at the top is 360 degrees around the mountaintop. Take water and a picnic. And dogs on a leash enjoy the hike!

This method was first patented in England in 1769 by William Watts. This area has picnic, hiking trails, and restrooms.

This hike starts across the bridge, at the parking area at Milepost 179 (our place is at Milepost 180) - easy down hill walk to small round meadow creek; if you have children, plan to play in the water on a warm day, get muddy, and bring dry clothes or shoes!
