This restaurant is a little pricy, but sooo good. They offer both great vine menu and amazing food. You can choose your own dishes or you can experience the 4 course menu for approx DKK 500,- pr. person. It is only 8 minutes’ walk from the apartment.

Bingo 156 is a nice little local café that offers breakfast, lunch. The price is fine and the food is good – especially the home-made breakfast bun. However, the service from the staff varies a bit and some times there’s a long wait.

This baker is located on Amager Beach. The bread and the pastries are amazing – not the drinks they offer. You’re only able to grap things to go – although there are some seats outside. But what we recommend is grabbing some buns (either buy one with butter and cheese or bring some yourself), maybe buy a coffee from the café next door and then go for a stroll on the beach and eat it at a bathing bridge or at one of the many benches. Breakfast at the sea is so amazing.

Although the name says coffee shop, this place is great for much more. We do not recommend the brunch as it is a little expensive compared to what you get, but the coffee and cakes are great, and the dinner is really good! Sometimes there’s live music. The atmosphere is a bit rustic and is a great representation of what locals from Copenhagen enjoy.

Amager Fælled used to be a military facility but is now a protected, green area with trekking paths, small lakes, animals and nice spots for grill and picnic. It’s the biggest green area in Copenhagen, and we really recommend it!

It is called DR Byen, because the Danish national tv channel “Danmarks Radio” (“Denmarks Radio”) is located there. Right next to it is DR’s concert hall, where there’s a lot of great concerts. It is also very beautiful to see at night where the building is lighted in blue.

“Amager Strandpark” (Amager beach park) is the biggest beach in Copenhagen and has a lot of great areas for swimming (sand and bathing bridge), cafés, restaurants, ice cream shops and so on. Buy yourself a coffee to go (and perhaps a cake) and take a nice stroll at the beach. From there, you’ll be able to see the Øresund’s bridge to Sweden and Amager Hill (/Amager Slope/Copenhill) – which is a combined heat and power waste-to-energy plant and recreational facility, where there is an all-year ski slope on top. At Amager Beach you can also find “The Kayak Hotel” from which you can rent kayaks, Stand Up Paddling-boards or just grab a cup of coffee. I also recommend eating breakfast by the beach - especially buying bread from "Svaneke Bread".

One of the most famous places to go for a walk in Copenhagen. The lakes are placed in the center of Copenhagen and binds the areas Vesterbro, Frederiksberg, Nørrebro, Østerbro and city center together. There're 5 lakes with streets in between and it takes approximately 1,5 hour to walk around them all. It is used by both tourist and locals - and it is a typical place to meet up for a first date. Grab a coffee to go and take a stroll. It is also very beautiful at night where it is lit up by the advertising signs and lights from the surrounding buildings.

If you want to experience another part of Amager, that is very beautiful, cozy and less known by tourists, we recommend going to “Dragør”. The fastest way is by bus 250S from ”Øresundsvej” all the way to the end and get of at “Dragør Stationsplads”. In Dragør you’ll find nice small houses, great food, local shops, beautiful views of the ocean and nice ice cream.

Nørrebro is more rustic and has some hard core areas. It is, however, also a place that has many great squares, stores and food.

Vesterbro is placed in the center of Copenhagen. It is espacially known for the street "Istedgade" that had many sex shops and were a place where hookers and drugs where easy to find. Today, however, the area is one of the most popular places to live. There are amazing restaurants, a great atmosphere and many families live here.

50 years ago, Amager (the part of Copenhagen that you’re staying at) was not really seen as a part of the center of Copenhagen. Actually, everything on Amager was for the working people, who couldn’t afford living in the city. Today, Amager has some of the most expensive apartments in Copenhagen because of views to the Sea, the Channel of Copenhagen and the many green areas like “Amager Fælled”. Still, many people who live here has been her for many, many years and several generations. They call themselves “Amar’kanere” (like Americans, but with Amager in the name instead). The area is very nice - it has all the great facilities by living in the city, but there are fewer people, green areas and the ocean also.
