The ashokan reservoir trail is a 3 minute drive or short walk from the Cottage. The sky never fails to put on a show, and if you're lucky you'll catch the eagle crew. Good flat walk, a favorite spot all year long.
The drive from the cottage to the Shawangunk Mountains and the Mohonk Preserve is just under 30 minutes, which takes you to some of the most bucolic hikes this area has to offer.
Mohonk Mountain house is at the center with a renowned restaurant, historic hotel and depending on the season ice skating, kayaking and horseback riding.
