Sightseeing
Tea Gardens is approx. 15 minutes’ drive away and it sits along the beautiful Myall River with several lovely cafes & restaurants to enjoy. Tea Gardens has a Coles, a pub, bakeries, a butcher, a pharmacy and various other small shops. You can also catch a daily ferry from Tea Gardens over to Nelson Bay which is a nice day trip but advance bookings are recommended in peak tourist season to avoid missing out.
A further 5 minutes’ drive is the stunning Hawks Nest - it has two main beaches (a surf beach called Bennetts Beach and a flat beach called Jimmys Beach) and a few more shops, cafes and restaurants too. Hawks Nest is the gateway to the Myall Lakes National Park which presents endless opportunities for adventure including the epic Yacaaba Headland walk and Dark Point Aboriginal heritage walk.

North Arm Cove is a paradise for bushwalkers, mountain bike riders, nature lovers and anyone who enjoys being near the water. A map of North Arm Cove has been provided with the location of this guest house marked. You are free to roam the bush trails on foot or on bike and explore the many around the Cove; however, please be aware that mobile phone reception is limited, so take a map and ample supplies whenever you leave the house and always be aware of your current location.
Medina Bay is the nearest water access point for swimming, fishing and kayaking. Heros beach is the closest sandy beach. Both have been marked on the maps provided. Swimming is at your own risk – please take extra care not to step on oyster shells when entering/exiting the water. And also be aware that stingrays, dolphins and even sharks can be present around the Cove.
North Arm Cove

Food scene
Karuah is just 10 minutes’ drive and offers one of the best spots to purchase local fresh oysters and prawns. There is also a small supermarket and pharmacy in Karuah.
