We love this casual eatery for its wonderful shared plates, wood fired oven, and eclectic wine selection. Limited seating inside, so make reservations. Outside seating is more plentiful.

The Park is the heart of our community. There are two fenced dog parks.
For kids there are modern play structures covered by shade sails. There is a splash pad durring the summer months.
Outdoor gym equipment, gathering spaces, public gardens, and garden plots are all open to enjoy.

The Arboritum is only accessible by car, but it is releatively rarely visited by tourists. Its operated the Department of Agriculture, so it has a completly different feel than other DC attractions.

Capitol Bike Share/ Scooters and Metro
The Shaw Metro Station is less than 10 minutes by foot. There is Capitol Bike Share rack on my block, and designated scooter parking which I often use to scoot to Metro. Generally its very easy to hire a bike, scooter, or ride share.
G8 Bus Stop 1.5 blocks- takes you Laffayette Square and The White House.
