It is an iconic sight for the region and you should go. BUT do not underestimate the difficulty. You really need proper shoes and good clothes. And bring water and pack a lunch! I'd say it takes 3hrs to hike up and maybe 2 to hike down if you're inexperienced hiker.

Check if they have a concert on in the Fartein Vahlen Sal - concert hall. It has one of the best acoustics in all of Norway and houses also a pipe organ which has its own facebook page.
