Voted the UK's best Tea Room, and it's easy to see why. Over 30 different teas, great coffee, delicious fresh cakes all served by waitresses in Victorian uniform. A beautiful building from the 15th century, and best of all it is next door to the Georgian Lodge!

Best for hungry mornings - the Boater's Breakfast is enormous and will defy all but the heartiest appetites! Perfect location on the canal by a stone bridge and a very tall lock. If you are lucky you may get a table on their docked canal boat - great fun!

Built in 1797 (about the same time as the Georgian Lodge!), this is a lovely 25 minute walk along the Kennet & Avon canal to the point it crosses the weir on the River Avon. Nice views, great pub called the Cross Guns, plus you'll often see herons, egrets, swans and kingfishers.

This is a beautiful small and simple Saxon church, over 1000 years old and unaltered by subsequent change, certainly worth a few minutes of time to look round. It's located next to a larger church, Holy Trinity, which is directly opposite and also worth a visit.

I popped in for a pair of socks and came out after buying two lovely linen shirts that are great quality and perfect for my summer holiday. It's one of those shops you have to be careful with, because you go in not intending to spend money but suddenly you've got a couple of bargains that can't be ignored!
