There has been a tea room in the Guardhouse for over 100 years. Ladies in bonnets and crinolines used to visit with their parasols. We still serve cream teas and ice cream but have extended the menu

When we first decided to open a café we always knew we wanted to serve fresh, healthy, modern food with options for everyone. We wanted a family or group of friends who had meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans & coeliacs to be able to come to our café and all eat together happily! We wanted to make as much of our food on the premises as possible, our own peanut butter, tomato ketchup, granola and cook our meals from scratch. When we asked Ashley if he would come and work with us as our chef he suggested that we could cure our own smoked bacon too.

Amazing view of Torbay, delicious locally caught fish. Shoals Seafood Restaurant is the brainchild of Sean and Sarah Perkes. Established in 2014, the once storage room for the open air seawater pool has been transformed into a unique fish lovers dream. The small family run restaurant and outside terrace provide beautiful coastal views across the bay and beyond.

Fabulous food and atmosphere The Riverford Field Kitchen has its own garden metres away from the restaurant. This is where our head gardener Penny works her green-fingered magic and grows a variety of crops for us to have fun with in the restaurant: fresh herbs, radishes, spicy rocket leaves, unusual tomato varieties, strawberries and raspberries for summer desserts. Growing our own not only allows us to serve you veg that’s truly fresh from the soil, but also lets us experiment with using every part of the plant, and at all stages of development, such as capering wild garlic and coriander seeds.

History
This is a "Tardis" of a museum. Small on the outside but absolutely packed with interesting items We are a group of volunteers helping to restore the Brixham coastal defence Battery built in 1940, and to provide on-site information to the general public and other organisations. The group uses the Artillery Training Section (ATS) hut as it's Education Centre and museum. The dedicated group of volunteers maintains and have restored the grounds of Brixham Battery. This includes the A.T.S building, War Shelter, Ammunition Tunnels, Generator Rooms, Gun Emplacements, Battery Observation Post (B.O.P), Pill Box and other structures around the site. As well as maintaining the museum and grounds, we educate schools and the general public about the history and operation of the site during World War 2.

Parks & Nature

A lovely walk from the bustling harbour, leads to the Berry Head Hotel, and then the amazing vista over Tor Bay, watch the clouds shadows dance across the blue sea, and you can see many different seabirds nesting on the cliffs, and if you are lucky dolphins and seals frolicking in the shore waters.
