Food Scene

It is at the end of our road and so delicious that we pop in a bit too often. The carrot cake is to die for and the coffee yummy too. Get there in the morning to enjoy the sun out the front.

(Wilbury Ave) This is Brighton’s locally roasted coffee and they are pretty cool about it too. So hipster that you might think you’re in Shoreditch but it’s just around the corner so perfect for your morning Latte.

(Church road) At the end of the road is a gem of a restaurant serving ‘fancy’ Thai food. It’s a bit pricey in the evening but worth it. However we enjoy their unusual Thai Tapas lunch menu which is half the price and delicious. The Giggling squid restaurant down the road is the more famous Thai in Hove and also great but a little further to walk.

(Church Road) Around the corner is a family run Italian Pizzeria that serves amazing pizza. Cooked in their impressive wood fired oven and yummy.

Drinks & Nightlife

(First Ave) A pub just the other side of Church road and slightly set back so blink and you’ll miss it (its next to Flour Pot). If you’re staying and the sun is shining then head to their garden, you cant see the sea but it’s a sun trap and a hidden gem. They do good burgers and roasts and not a bad bottle of rose.

(Church road) Also at the end of our road and apparently serves exceptional beer. We’re not beer drinkers but hear that they serve great local beers. They often have little events and BBQs

(Church road) Probably a hen do favourite but certainly worth popping in, especially during happy hour (sun-thurs 5-8pm, Fri 5-7pm) You call for your cocktails from phones on your table which is a fun little addition.

After Starbucks coffee on Church Road but before you get to Taj you might find one of the coolest bars in town. The Bees Mouth. Open late. If you are after a late night crazy last drink, head here…..highly recommended…

Outside the front of the cricket ground is a bike park where you can use the Brighton bike share scheme. Hire a bike by the hour and leave it at other docking points around the city.

Essentials

There are lots of little supermarkets dotted all over Hove, you will find them on most streets. However if you want more choice of food, leave the flat and head towards the sea. The road at the end of our road is Church Road. If you turn left, this runs all the way into the centre of Brighton (20-30 mins walk). As you walk up Church Road towards Brighton, after you pass Tescos on your left, then Sainsburys on your right. These are the two largest Supermarkets on Church Road. For authentic global supermarket produce if you keep walking you will find Taj further onwards. And then Waitrose.
