The amazing Floyd Country Store is why most visitors come to Floyd from all over the world! it is the anchor for our local music scene, and the traveling Blue Grass acts that come to play. The incredible and legendary Friday Night Jamboree is a joy and wonder to behold as dozens and dozens of local musicians from fifty or more miles around come to play purely for the love of the music and the company of good people. While the headliner in the store entertains the folk lucky enough to have a ticket ($5 last I saw, get it as early as you can! Tix on sale day of show at 4:45pm) Outside, if its not storming, the groups accrue for you to watch too! Saturday daytime shows also (lots of music, check their schedule) and lunch daily. Good country shopping if you ain't busy flatfooting!

Wonderful hike and falls other side of the New River Valley, worth a trip if you are in the area for a bit. Cold swimming, great after hiking in. Easy walk out. $3 parking with bathrooms and tables and grills.

Superb Hike, rated difficult. There are many easy walks or parts though! Just beautiful. Go to mile marker 169 to the right of the overlook. Then the steepest part is downhill, and the best views come last... Rocky Knob Recreation Area
