Very informative on some really intriguing history of the island, the military, native americans & the prison, gorgeous views of the city, a nice boat ride, pleasent walk , good photo opportunities. Several options on tours are available that focus on different aspects . Can also get a really good deal with a CityPass, but look for info on that in the CityPass entry.
