Well's Farmer's market, every Wednesday and Saturday, is one of the best in the county. Buy lunch from the stalls then sit out at tables in the street watching the world go by.

Fabulous fairytale castle with a moat and swans and a great café. In the summer there are lost of events for kids and concerts for adults. You can walk there easily from here

There is a steep but short climb to this iconic landmark. Have lunch in Glastonbury after and marvel at shops selling witches' paraphanalia ( yes,really!)

Have your walking boots with you. As well as the caves, there are fabulous walks on top of the ridge and around. Awesome views.

Simply the best coffee in town! Loaf is a hip cafe and bakery in the 'Artisan Quarter' of Wells - a mews containing several independent stores. In the summer you can sit outside in the sheltered courtyard. Does great breakfast too - oh, and delicious homemade pies and beer on Saturday nights.
