Activities
You will learn to surf in the gentle beach breaks of Playa Avellanas, which is the ideal spot to be introduced to the world of surfing. If you're a beginner surfer they will take you through the basics and safety tips on the beach at first, and then commence the lesson in the water, with the goal being have fun and get stoked!
If you're an intermediate surfer, they can take you out to the lineup right away and start improving certain aspects of your surfing you'd like to work on in terms of reading the ocean, body mechanics, and efficiently utilizing the speed the wave has to offer. For the intermediate lessons we offer various surf break options that depend on the capabilities of the client.

TURTLE NESTING
At Playa Junquillal beach the endangered Leather Back Turtles or the smaller Ridley Turtles lay their eggs. They seem to prefer well moon-light nights at high tide. Also a deep water approach leading to steep white sand beaches is favored. The females struggle to the beach, dig a hole with their flippers, lay their eggs, cover them up and then return to the ocean. Wear dark clothes, do not shine light into their eyes or otherwise disturb them. Only approach closer when the egg laying begins. Generally it takes about 3-4 hours for the whole process.
