From here you can take a bus going west on 125th Street to Malcolm X Blvd and you're not far from the famous Sylvia's Restaurant (be serenaded) or the Red Rooster. A few blocks up on off 132nd Street is Revolution Books for books, buttons, open mics (some Friday nights) and readings from famous authors. (Check their schedules).

As an addition of fun things to do in NYC, why not take a FREE ferry ride and see the skyscrapers from an ever-widening distance. Perfect for warm sunny days. Catch glimpses of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. If you wish to walk around, there is a museum on Staten Island OR you can simply take a return ferry.
If it's summer, then there are the beaches (like Coney Island - with the amusement park as well), all only a train-ride away!
