Homemade noodles. The Spicy Tan Tan Ramen is the best! (Call ahead for a reservation otherwise it is usually an hour wait -they take your cell phone number & send a text when the table is ready so you can go offsite to have a drink or hang out in Ramen's bar)

A short drive, but good restaurant. Except to pay a bit more. In the summer, enjoy the bocce ball courts in the back.

One of the very popular restaurants in town (located in the Barlow District) with a large outdoor dining area. Make a reservation to ensure you can get a spot otherwise waits can be up to an hour for dinner. This is one of my favorite's. Many times, the chef (who is a part-owner) walks around and greets the diners asking "how was your meal". Great for lunch too!

Where the locals go to eat homemade ice cream. They have a wide variety of vegan/dairy free options as well. You can't miss the bright pink building on the corner.

Great local place by the Sebastopol Plaza serving out of a small space. Open 11:30-4pm, Closed Tues & Wed Owned and run by a mom and her daughter. Order from the window and eat outside at a table. I suggest the Banh Mi, but instead of a sandwich, get it "bowl style" without carbs. For an upcharge, add avocado and an egg (or select another protein) (Side-note: Jam's Joy Bungalow has a free food giveaway twice monthly to feed the homeless)

Local Favorite, Owned by Matthew Williams, who also co-owns Ramen Gaijin, a ramen shop in Sebastopol, with Chef Moishe Hahn-Schuman. Call ahead for reservations. This spot is almost always busy!! Recently the Michelin Guide inspectors have named Sebastopol’s Khom Loi as one of 10 notable new San Francisco and Wine Country restaurants for inclusion in its online guide. Described as “Extensive travel throughout Thailand has informed and inspired this team to bring a taste of Chiang Mai to Sebastopol. The house-made Thai sausage is superb; and the paste for all the curries are made in-house, with our favorite being the green curry with Manila clams and potatoes,” the anonymous chief inspector wrote."

Drinks & Nightlife

Crooked Goat was started by 4 locals who held an annual Octoberfest at a country property for friends each year. They decided to expand and open the location in The Barlow and named it after the goat from the farm property. Yummy beers with a variety of flavored selections. Come drink some beer and see the Barlow IPA 10K & Beer Mile Invitational (Annual event in April)

The oldest bar in Sebastopol and definitely in the “dive bar” category. Bring cash as that’s all they take... no credit cards. Pool tables, shuffleboard, jukebox, popcorn and a train that you can make run for the price of two quarters and watch as it circles around the bar rafters. One of the bartenders, Kimi will make her “Kimikaze” orange tasting cocktail if you ask!

This is the one of the newer spots in town for locals and visitors alike. They offer music seven nights a week, but bring a tip for the band because they usually walk around and ask between sets. A hipster setting, food is yummy but a bit pricey and small portions. This is my favorite spot these days to go for a Michelin-Approved cocktail... be prepared to pay approx $13-$14 for each. My favorite is the Creamsicle. If you are around on a Monday night and tell the server you are in for “locals night” you”ll receive free bar snacks on your table and a free locally made beer or cider.

A short 30 min. drive to Bodega Bay and you’ll find that Lucas Wharf is one of the first restaurants you come to. Have lunch or an early dinner with a table overlooking the water. A full bar also, so it is a great spot to stop for a warm cocktail and a bowl of clam chowder after a walk on the beach before coming back to Sebastopol. A locals favorite!

EASY Ride #1: WEST COUNTY TRAIL FROM OUR SHOP/OUT AND BACK This is by far our favorite recommended ride for folks just wanting a casual ride with no climbs, and mostly trail riding. Round trip is 16.7 miles. It goes from Sebastopol to Forestville, and then returns the same way. Sebastopol Bike Shop Current Hours: 10-5PM DAILY. Currently they only have cruisers for rent, but they hope to expand their fleet of rentals soon. Look on the website for more details and suggested rides close by.

Good old fashioned hamburger and fries spot. Burgers are made with Niman Ranch grass-fed premium beef. Great Decor like the old style burger joints. ...And have a beer with your burger! Choose from a great selection of IPA beer selections. The owners are Middle Eastern so they also serve Gyros, homemade Hummus, homemade Baba Ganoosh, a fresh Falafel sandwich and combo plate if you are in the mood.

Florence Avenue may well be the coolest street in the US in my opinion. Plan you own "unofficial" walking tour to see the whimsical junk artworks, well-known in SebTown by artist Patrick Amiot. The recycled metal sculputures depict everything from witches, waitresses, and mermaids, to cowboys, baseball players, and motorbike riding skeletons. Farmers drive their tractors, surfers ride the waves, captains sail their boats, and campers toast marshmallows, all in the leafy front gardens on this quiet street. (Please park once and walk) Urban folk artists Patrick Amiot and Brigitte Laurent— sculpt them out of scrap metal and found objects; he creates them and she paints them. The couple live on Florence Avenue, and you can tell which house was theirs—there are multiple sculptures in their front garden a car decorated with painted daisies. My favorite junk are piece on Florence Ave. is the "Crow-Bar"... see if you can find it! You'll see more Patrick Amiot works randomly throughout Sebastopol, bought and displayed in yards and public areas, but Florence Street is a must see with many of his works condensed on this Sebastopol street.

My favorite is the Award Winning Iced Coffee with melted raw sugar, 1/2 & 1/2, whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. I always order it with a double shot! Another amazing coffee shop, locally owned. Located in the Gravenstein Station (across from Community Market)... look for the old train cars clustered together to create the business center.
