Contemporary and stylish fine dining restaurant. Fabulously good value, with a three course lunch including loads of little extras for Just over £20 per person. Good wine list.

Michelin starred restaurant on Newcastle's quayside. Delicious, top quality ingredients. A little more expensive than most restaurants in the area but perfect for a special occasion.

A pub with a difference, the Quay Taphouse serves fabulous tapas dishes which are very reasonably priced. Can be hard to get a seat so prepare to wait at the bar until a table becomes available. Great tapas and wine/deals up to 7 pm.
The Quay Taphouse is found at North Shields fish quay and is approximately 25 minutes walk from our house.

Much further afield, this Michelin starred restaurant in Darlington is definitely worth a visit if you have time but be sure to book well ahead. Listed in the 2017 Good Food guide, chef James Close's cooking is exceptional.

Owner, Gary, is an incredibly talented chef who runs this small restaurant in the centre of Whitley Bay. Delicious food, from breakfasts to taster menus specialising in using great local produce are to be founds at this special venue. One of our personal favourites. And because you bring your own wine or beer and pay a small corkage fee, it's great value for money too!
