Eats!
Great eats in Wanaka. There are plenty of great cafes and restaurants to choose from. Here are a few of my favourites :)
Chilled atmosphere. I've had great food and service. The meals are BIG so if you're not starving sharing a meal would be a great idea (thats what i'll do next time!). The classic Fish n Chips is great. The salmon is also very good too. Great for families. Parking not an issue.

Albert Town Fish Company

Great hidden cafe, awesome coffee, great food, free wifi and relaxing spot. Check it out. Serves brunch, lunch and dinner.

FEDELI (takeaway of Federal Diner) This is a great place to have or takeaway a quick healthy meal. Wonderful selection of meals/snacks/sweeties. Also does excellent coffee. Go grab some fab food for a picnic by the lake or food to take up the mountain or just reheat a great meal after a big day exploring beautiful Wanaka! Enjoy

Pembroke Patisserie - Albert Town. Amazingly good french patisserie. My favourite thing to do is bike (hire a bike) and bike the "Outlet Track" (this will take you from Wanaka to Albert Town). I stop for some fresh water, a beautiful Almond croissant and coffee.. (well deserved I believe). My nephews loved the filled donuts!

Speights Ale House,
Great place for a cold beer, nice pub and great pub food. We sometimes share a main (they're big) and have a starter between 2. Free wifi. The location is great too.

It may not look super styling but the food and coffee is excellent. The service had always been great. Great for a lunch or brunch. Dinner is also available. My go to is a latte. Take the time, sit down and enjoy the lake view

This is a great place to come for some nourishing food. Select a plate size, a protein and 3 sides (salads or vege). I often come here if I'm travelling alone or not in Wanaka for long. Perfect after a big day hiking or biking ☺️👍

If your after a movie check out Paradiso Cinema, small, intimate and eclectic. Make sure you head out to the cafe at half time for amazing hot biscuit (cookie). Great for a rainy day or chill day from busy travels.

Book a tour of the local distillery. Wonderful tour providing great insight to the process of distilling Whiskey and other spirits. Ask for a tour with John Hallum - a local with a heap of knowledge (local and alcohol related!). My favourite is the Gin!

Tourist Activity
You have to visit! Yep get the photo, but go on in relax enjoy a beverage. Nothing beats a cold beer in the beer garden listening to some live music! Enjoy the moment and history of the place! Built in 1863, once a gold miners stop off now the must see Cadrona attraction. Can be seen driving to/from Queenstown via the Crown Range.

A great hill climb that the family can do. There are some steep parts. However it doesnt take too long and the views are great over Wanaka and Wanaka Lake. Walk from accommodation.

Walk, Bike or Drive to ThatWanakaTree. I enjoy a bike from holiday home, carrying on along Waterfall Creek Track. Waterfall Creek Track is gentle and great for young families to test out the bikes while capturing the classic Wanaka photo.

Beautiful place to visit during spring summer when lavender is in full bloom 🌸 If you're after a great photo opportunity and wanting Instagram worthy photos, well worth a visit. Lovely opportunity to get dressed up too! Be sure to check out the gift shop their oils and creams are beautiful. I had a wonderful morning with my neice taking photos in our summer dresses 👗

Lovely opportunity to get dressed up too! Be sure to check out the gift shop their oils and creams are beautiful. I had a wonderful morning with my neice taking photos in our summer dresses 👗
