Voted Holland's best live venue. The impressive building is almost visible from my street. The institute hosts classical concerts, bands, singer songwriters, club nights and indoor festivals. The view from the top floors is breathtaking!

Charming venue that hosts mostly alternative bands and newcomers. Good place to check out acts that are on the verge of a breakthrough. there's a small café attached and I believe they serve veggie food on the first floor, but you have to check that since that's relatively new.

Parks & Nature
Check out the lovely walk along the canal. In the summer there's a lot of vegetation and urban wildlife in the form of ducks, coots (that's a bird as well) and even a few herons. For a long walk, follow the (Weerd)singel all around the city centre. This body of water used to be the border of Utrecht in the middle ages. The walk takes about 1,5 hours.

Lovely to go to in summer. Jus bring a towel and some snakcs and lay yourself down in the grass. In winter it's nice for a walk to get some fresh air in the city.

Getting Around
Utrecht CS is just a 10 minute walk away. Amsterdam can be reached in 27 minutes. Rotterdam and The Hague in a bit over 30. Utrecht had the largest trainsstations of the country because of its central location.
