French breads and patisseries, which you can enjoy with a fresh coffee in the cafe. Or buy to make your picnic sitting on the benches on the riverside embankment. Watch out for the seagulls though!

A beautiful house on the River Dart which once belonged to Agatha Christie, of detective stories fame. Pop on the ferry from the Dittisham pontoon across the river and enjoy a few hours wondering around the lovely house and gardens.

A great place to take the family, with wonderful views and coastal walks beyond. The Castle is English Heritage and has dungeons with canons to visit and a super tea room . Some summer days you can dress up as a pirate!

The lake is surrounded by reedbeds, marshes and woodland habitats. Follow the board walk trail, join a Free event or stay for a course at the Field Studies Centre.
