Mount Konocti County Park opened in 2011 and is the largest park managed by Lake County. It sits atop mighty Mount Konocti – a now dormant volcano – and includes over 1,500 acres of stunning views and hiking trails. Bring water and hiking shoes.

The park encompasses over 1,200 acres of wetlands, grassy hillsides, and oak woodlands, and is home to a diverse range of plant and animal species. Visitors can explore the park on hiking trails that wind through the wetlands and up into the hills, offering stunning views of Clear Lake and the surrounding landscape. The park is a great place for birdwatching, with over 200 species of birds having been recorded here, including several rare and endangered species. In addition to its natural beauty, Anderson Marsh is also an important site of Native American history. The park was once home to the Pomo people, who lived in the area for thousands of years and relied on the wetlands and surrounding landscape for food and other resources. Today, the park contains several archaeological sites that provide insight into the Pomo way of life, including village sites, burial grounds, and rock art. Visitors can learn about the Pomo culture and history at the park's interpretive center and through guided tours led by knowledgeable park rangers.
