My favourite Turkish restaurant on Green Lanes - there are loads. Although the menus looked worn out on my last visit, the food is always the same high standard and I like the staff. I recommend the mussels with chefs special tomato sauce. It's also very reasonably priced.

Yes, the coffee is overpriced, but it's worth going to check out the Anderson shelter in the back garden - the whole cafe is war time themed. They sell nice sourdough bread and the weekend breakfasts are great.

for Chollah bread and filled bagels there is none finer. It always seems to be open.

Weirdly cheap, they just sell naan. Get the spicy one while it's hot it's absolutely delicious.

They have a really great selection of real ales and cider, plenty of space indoors and out. Log fire in winter. They have a few games in the bar upstairs. Climbers from the climbing centre opposite usually hang out here, which is nice.

Recently opened access to East Reservoir managed by the London Wildlife Trust. There's a cafe on one side and it's a pleasant, flat stroll. You'll see herons and quite a few other birds.

It looks like an ordinary corner shop on the outside, but inside there's loads of good and unusual things to eat. It's more expensive than the Sainsbury's down the road, but it's worth it to support a really responsive and efficient local business.

Everything Else
There is a lovely cafe in the Castle next to one of the lead climb walls. There is also a wonderful garden with banks to roll down, bees, a cob oven, a living willow den, a forest garden, allotments and loads of food growing everywhere.
