There are two places we always take our out of town guests: Alicia’s in Sugar Pine and Kate’s in Columbia. Amazing chicken pot pie, everyone’s favorite sandwich, scones, and the teas!

We LOVE the Twain Harte Pharmacy! It reminds me of the small town "dimestore" I grew up with. Has all of your pharmacy needs, plus loads of other things. Great place to take kids to pick out a treat (toys, games, tchotchkes, etc) or to pick up a souvenir from the trip (Twain Harte postcards, bags, T-shirts, etc).

Lyons Dam is a 10.4 mile out and back trail located near Twain Harte that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, horses, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.

The Sugar Pine Railroad Trail follows the course of the old Sugar Pine Railroad that was used to deliver timber from remote regions of the forest to sawmills. Today its gentle grade makes it an excellent hiking and mountain biking route. Start at the Fraser Flat Road trailhead.
