Dryden Cottage, Whitby Harbour - Beach side

This cottage is all about the view! Beach-side location at the base of the 199 steps - perfect for exploring the beautiful historic town of Whitby. Browse in the eclectic independent shops and sample the finest seafood in the local eateries. Walk up to the abbey, stroll along the piers and collect fossils from the beach, take a ride on the steam train to the neighbouring villages and explore the moors. Please note due to the beach side location of the cottage, there is unfortunately no parking.

Castleton is lucky to have two great pubs The Downe Arms with fabulous food and atmosphere right across the road and The Eskdale which serves lovely ‘fine dining food’ but also lovely just for a drink. There’s the Old Chapel Tearoom, a Londis & ‘Off the Scale’ shop We are also along the Esk Valley train line to Whitby

The Shoemakers Cottage has undoubtedly one of the best locations in Whitby right at the bottom of the 199 steps tucked in a quiet alley off the cobbled street. A small but cosy romantic cottage over 3 floors close to the harbour, the abbey and very close to Tate Hill Beach. BBQ and picnic basket set provided. Romantic victorian freestanding bath in the main bedroom. Arrival is down the busy cobbled church street. Best location. On-street parking scratch card provided in the W zone 10min walk.

Secret Garden Hideaway occupies one of the most secret locations in the Centre of Whitby at Summer Hills, with a private garden accessed from the St Hildas Terrace behind a stone wall at the top of Flowergate it has guests returning to this wonderful location. Kitchen (kettle, toaster, cooker, microwave, fridge freezer) hair dryer, TV, DVD, shower/jacuzzi bath, towels, wifi, bed linen, iron, 1 double bed & a sofa bed downstairs, 2 twin beds & single bed upstairs. Keepers Cottage is part of the Old Mill, and is a highly commended cottage located at Egton Bridge, which is a North York Moors National Park conservation area, on the coast to coast path near to the coastal town of Whitby and ideal for exploring the moors, the Yorkshire Coast, including Scarborough, Bridlington, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay. In addition Malton, Pickering and the City of York. North York Moors is officially designated as Dark Skies Reserve right on our door step.

We have a great south facing veranda with amazing views. The cottage faces south with views right across the bay. Bedding and towels provided. Free parking pass for the (“Homeowners car park). 3 nights minimum booking. No Pets. The property is not suitable for mobility problems due to steps. Check in 3pm. Check out 10.30am.

The Smithy at Cross Pipes, Goathland

The Smithy is a self contained stone built cottage situated on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. It was built in the 1800’s and was originally one of two blacksmiths serving the community of Goathland. The Smithy offers you a comfortable base to visit the local area. Spacious studio accommodation with a king sized bed in a recessed area, walk in shower and toilet, full kitchen facilities, wood burning stove, TV and Wi-Fi. Also perfect for exploring the bustling fishing town of Whitby which is just a couple of miles down the road.

Periwinkle cottage is a beautifully renovated property, perfectly located in the centre of the quaint village of Ruswarp but a short walk to the centre of Whitby. The open plan lounge, with comfortable seating, smart tv leads to a luxury fitted kitchen which in turn leads to a private outdoor space, ideal for lazing in the sun and Al fresco dining. Upstairs, the property has 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other featuring a small double, and a family bathroom.

Please also note that the property has slipper baths - there are no showers or shower heads (see pictures) Private area with seating and a hot tub. We are in the countryside but only 2 miles from local amenities. Pocklington is 2 miles, The beautiful city of York is 12 miles, the coast is only an hours drive.
