The Burlington Hotel & Bar was built with 12 sleeping rooms for railroad workers in 1891. Located in Alma along the Mississippi River and still along active railroad tracks, it was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 1982. The hotel now features 5 bedrooms for up to 12 guests, a bar & a shop called 'Queen Bee Alma' offering crochet & craft classes. Location: 1/2 mile from the marina/beach, a few doors down from Kwik Trip, and a short walk to the bars & shops, downtown Alma.

Lanesboro Suite @ Root River Inn Downtown Resort

Up at tree level and overlooking the terraced hillside, you can’t beat the picturesque views from the upper deck of Lanesboro Suite. Get some rest on this comfortable queen bed. Check in at work easily at your desk. Don't work about your connection as we have great wifi. Your kitchenette is a great place to store leftovers or whip up a quick meal. Everything from utensils to pots and pans are provided.Traveling with a larger party? Book Preston Suite as well to have the upper deck to yourselves.

Root River Inn, Whalan En Suite

This room, named after the smallest town on the Root River Trail, is our smallest room. Perfect if you just plan to sleep here an be out enjoying the day. There is a bench and a stool in the room. This room has a window overlooking main street. You can see the bike trail and the bridge from your room. Recline in your queen bed and watch the Roku TV where you can watch many free channels or log into your own services. This room has the sink in the room and toilet and shower in the bathroom.

Root River Inn, Harmony En Suite

Like the town, this room is a bit larger than Houston. You'll be close to the outdoors in this balcony facing room. Sit outside your room and enjoy the view of the landscaping. Your in room sitting area is a great place to make your day plans, sit and chat over a cup of coffee or play a game. Get some rest in your queen or full bed after a great day or recline and watch the Roku TV where you have access to many free channels or log into your own services. All our rooms have a full bath.

The Tritsch House Walser Room

Enjoy a private room in this fully remodeled 1902 Queen Anne. The Walser Room has a private bathroom with shower, as well as a Jacuzzi tub. Guests have access to all of the main level common areas including the parlor, living and dining rooms, and any one of the three porches. Two of these porches have Mississippi River views. Guests also love hanging out in the newly remodeled kitchen. Sorry, but microwave only cooking. This is not a bed and breakfast and breakfast is not provided.
