An off grid cabin in the hills of Vermont with a spectacular view of Camel's Hump. Not for everyone, (no running water, spotty cell service) but if you want quiet, beauty and solitude, this place is for you. A writer-hiker's dream. If it's chilly, the cabin's heated. There's also an ice pack (provided) fridge, propane stove, solar electricity for lights, composting toilet (no smell. Really), pots, cooking utensils, dishware etc We allow one dog (only ONE, please!) for a fee $25 per stay.

Magical cabin with amazing views

100 year old , freshly renovated cabin that is in the middle of five 100 year old apple trees with incredible Mountain View’s. The cabin sits 100ft uphill from my 1842 brick farmhouse and is surrounded by apples trees, an ancient elm tree, fields and my berry patches. The huge deck has a dining table, lots of seating and and outdoor shower. Off the side of the deck are two claw foot bathtubs with hot and cold water for you to soak in. Note, tubs aren’t usable during the freezing months.

The open floor plan allows you to be in the new kitchen while still enjoying the real fireplace. Also located on the first floor is a full bath and spacious bdrm. Upstairs is where you’ll find the master with full bath. There is a large deck and fire pit which is great for just hanging out. All this and easy access to the Mountain Road shuttle.

Easy access to VAST snowmobile trails, within an hour's drive to 3 ski areas (Stowe, Smuggler's Notch and Jay Peak), X-Country skiing right outside the door or in Craftsbury or Stowe. Elmore State Park is 3 miles away. Hiking trails and kayaking abound!

Enjoy the mountain views in a warm and rustic country setting. Come and visit whether you want to play hard or relax. NO PETS (we have allergies in the family) NO SMOKING NO FIREARMS AWD and/or snow tires recommended in the winter and spring months (Oct/Nov - April)
