Stunning Lake Superior View at Penny's Peak

This is a quaint sleeping studio bunkhouse located at Rustic Superior private campground, one mile off of Hwy 61 in Hovland, Minnesota. Includes futon, chairs, fire pit & panoramic view of the property and Lake Superior. Perfect for the individual or couple looking to get away from everything. This simple 12 x 12 foot north woods structure is well-maintained & clean. Penny's Peak is a visually secluded rustic campsite. Guests have full access to our groomed hiking trails and stunning wilderness.

The Hawk

The Hawk Cottage was built in the 1930's and is a perfect retreat for those who crave nostalgia and a cozy, rustic experience. Tucked back in the woods and just off the North Shore of Lake Superior, it is the perfect spot to relax with a good book by the cobblestone fireplace or to enjoy the beautiful North Woods scenery from the large deck. Located between Lutsen and Grand Marais, The Hawk is a great place to setlle in and then head out to explore all of the wonder that Cook County has to offer

Storybook Northwoods Log Cabin on Lake Superior

Painted Rock sits perched on a quaint spit of ledge rock, halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, on the edge of Cascade State Park. This historic log cabin has been lovingly restored to retain all its original charm and history, while updated with all the luxury amenities. A large Main Room is home to a wood-burning fireplace, dining table, game table, and picture windows that bring the Big Lake indoors in all seasons. A bathroom with a deep soaker tub and heated floors adds spa-like comfort.

The Lena Dome (5 min to Grand Marais)

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Directly on the Pincushion Trail System (which links to the Superior Hiking Trail) you'll find endless hiking options right outside your door. The Lena dome is 5 minutes from downtown Grand Marais where you can eat at amazing restaurants, hear great live music, enjoy time by Lake Superior, and explore beautifully curated local shops. Lena has electricity, but no heat or cooking supplies, so plan for an elevated camping experience. READ BELOW

Superior View House

The Superior View House is your quiet escape to the North Shore. Located just 1 mile from access to Lake Superior, 1/2 mile from the Superior Hiking Trail and 10 minutes from Grand Marais this entire home is an excellent place to set up for a long weekend exploring the Northwoods. The cozy fireplace and large airy living room make for comfortable ways to spend the evenings or days when the whether isn't cooperating, otherwise the three outdoor decks and wood fired sauna are the places to be.

Cozy Cabin with Hot Tub, Deck Hammock & Projector

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway in a Maple & Cedar forest. Soak in the wood-fired hot tub. Let your inner chef out on the Professional Wolf Gas Range in the kitchen. Sip coffee on the deck, put your feet up by the fireplace, , take a nap in the massive deck hammock or catch the brilliance of the stars and maybe even the rare Northern Lights. 4 minutes to Lake Caribou (1.7 mi) and 12 min to Lutsen Mountains Ski Area (7.7 mi). Close to hiking trails and snowmobile trails.

Welcome to Hawkweed House, your peaceful getaway in Grand Marais.
