A thoroughly enjoyable stay. Wonderful location, the kids loved having a pool and playground (or 2 if you count the pub playground) at their doorstep. The views were lovely too. Also a testament to the layout was how easily pur kids ended up making friends with other kids there over such a short period. The only 2 things I would change - beds were too hard for me (but that is personal preference) and the showers weren't the best - though showers in the pool area were perfect. Clearly not something that would change my 5 star rating. A couple of other points - being so close to Carsington Water (1 minute drive) was superb. Ashbourne and Matlock also close and lovely locations - very much enjoyed our little excursions there and to The Heights of Abraham. Thanks, a lovely stay.

We have had a wonderful stay at Penn Hill this week. Jo and Richard were friendly, warm and welcoming and we were made to feel right at home. The location and house are stunning and we have already booked to go back again!

We had a wonderful stay at Knockerdown cottages. It was everything we hoped for and more. The children enjoyed the facilities (swimming pool and field for playing games) and we had some lovely walks in the surrounding area. Thank you very much! We look forward to revisiting soon!

great cottage in a fantastic location with Carsington Water in walking distance and a lovely country pub too! Cottage had everything we could have asked for and our host was really helpful when we needed them. Highly recommend :)

Very pleased with our weekend stay. it is set up with activities to keep you entertained and two massive TVs we connected multiplayer games to.. they were also very helpful when we mashed the parking situation and needed to be told to change things and were very polite in doing so. very very clean top to bottom. my only criticism is there were no tea towels!! other than that - good value place in a nice area close to central Leicester with decent hosts. thanks for putting us up. xxx

I stayed with my family at the cottages on a trip to Alton Towers. I would recommend it to anyone very spacious, clean and great communication with the staff. Lots on site to keep the kids entertained. Would definitely stay again

We had a lovely stay at Knockerdown Cottages! The room was very clean, well-maintained, and the check-in and check-out process was seamless without any manual intervention, which made everything so easy. The property is peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The only minor issue we faced was that shampoo and shower gel were not provided by the owners, so it would be good to carry your own toiletries. Overall, a wonderful experience — would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay!

Stairs case difficult to navigate so wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility issues

I had booked 2 of Anjus accommodation for guests travelling from abroad to attend a wedding. Everyone loved the accommodations - they were spacious, clean and suited the needs of our guests. Family would be more than happy to book these accommodations again in the future if we have another big event again. Thank you to the team for all their help

thank you hosts for being so responsive, for answering all my questions and requests with patience :) my family enjoyed their time there. my only nitpick would be some kitchen utensils were a bit dusty / dirty, and there was no hooks in the bathroom, which made it a bit difficult to hang up clothing. other than that, everything was as advertised and we had a fantastic and memorable stay.

We used James’ AirBnB the night before I got married and it was exactly the right place to be before such an important day! Clean, clear instructions to find and enter, and lots of amenities to help relax before the big day!

A great stay at Callum's place. A really lovely place. Plenty of room, nice and warm and it was great to see the fish in the morning.

Had a great stay with 7 friends at Pauls place. Paul was very responsive when arranging the stay, which was last minute due to another host cancelling a few days before. House is as pictured, if not bigger when you arrive. Huge Garden with lovely plants in a quiet and private area is very relaxing. A lot of lovely furniture inside makes it a homely place to stay and there is a few nice places to eat nearby - although make sure you enjoy spice before heading to the Soho Tavern! Paul was there to meet me on arrival and show me around the place, which was an easier experience than reading through all the information. An excellent stay in a place I would thoroughly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at Emma's cottage. The place is spotlessly clean with everything you would require in the kitchen. The toiletries in the bathroom are a lovely touch. The photos do not do this place justice. Location is great to explore the area. The pub in the village was excellent and did a great dinner for us. I would thoroughly recommend this place and we will happily book again if we return to the area. Thank you so much Emma.

We had a wonderful stay! the property had everything we needed and more. Very comfortable beds in clean, lovely bedrooms. Great kitchen and bathrooms... and of course the games cupboard! thank you!

Home from home. Ideal base for the Midlands. Extremely comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful private garden. We highly recommend staying there.

We enjoyed our stay. There are nice walks around the area, and the general setting is very good. We walked to the local pub for a great lunch. The rooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms. Check in was easy.

Emma is a great host she dealt with an issue early on extremely quickly and professionally, the cottage is a wonderful place to chill and relax with breathtaking views which all of the family enjoyed to look at, my daughter coming home said she wants to come back again which I’m sure we will!

We had a really lovely stay here and would highly recommend the house. It’s brand new, beautifully decorated throughout and spotlessly clean. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. We would definitely return!

Great place and Victoria responded to queries. Very nice house with plenty of outside space too. Perfect , only very minor downside no pubs really in walking distance, (as have to take into account the mile long farm track( but this is just a modern world issue. ) Took plenty and food etc with us as thought this maybe the case. Though do recommend The Bluebell and Horseshoes which we drove to. Totally recommend xx

Good location for Derby and National Trust properties. Very quiet. Cosy bungalow with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thank you Suki and Jas. Little pointer. Press quite hard on the numbers of the key lock to release. We were a little to gentle at first and took ages to get the key🤣
