The Old Reading Room West Stafford, Dorset.

The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. We have now lovingly restored, decorated and furnished this amazing building into a cosy self catering holiday retreat, "far from the madding crowd" Open plan, comfy double sofabed, wood burner, country walks and fabulous village pub.

The cottage can sleep four people, with two bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, comfortable lounge and modern bathroom. Everything is recently fitted and is in lovely condition. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside with great views. Located a short walk from the Fleet, which is a tidal inland water that has views all along the Chesil beach from Portland to Lyme Regis. The Chesil beach itself is a world class beach for fishing all year round and is especially popular during the mackerel season.

The Outback Cabin

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. There is a super king memory foam bed as well as a sofa which pulls out into a double bed. The bedroom leads directly into a bathroom equipped with walk in electric shower, toilet and sink. There is a small kitchenette area which hosts a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Tea and coffee is supplied. There is a 5 seat hot tub at the side of the cabin for use whilst staying at the property as well as outdoor patio furniture.

Courage Cottage is a two bedroom detached barn conversion in a Georgian farmyard.The barn was converted in 2013 so has all modern conveniences including underfloor heating. It is very individual and situated in a quiet , rural setting. It has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The village of Martinstown has an excellent pub and shop. Fully fitted galley kitchen. One bedroom with a double and single bed+ sofa bed in the sitting room. Children of all ages welcome. I am pet friendly, with felines of my own. No children of any age and no animals/pets allowed. Smoking strictly prohibited inside The Hide or on the grounds.
