The hosts were almost always home and incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. They gave a detailed room tour and quickly responded whenever I needed anything—even when I suddenly had a skin issue, they tried to help. The room wasn’t huge, but it was clean and cozy. There was a full fridge and a well-equipped kitchen, which made it easy to cook and stick to my usual meals. The bathroom was spotless too. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the train station, with a 40-minute ride to Amsterdam and 1.5 hours to The Hague. Just note that trains are less frequent after 10 PM. The town is peaceful and beautiful, and the locals I met were all very kind. After seven days, it truly felt like a home in the Netherlands :)

It is a homely place for big groups, that able us to be all together and still have diffrent cosy corners to have privacy.

The accommodation conditions were exactly as described. The village was peaceful and beautiful. The dinner spot recommended by Bianca gave me the opportunity to interact with local villagers and better understand the village. The animals were very cute. The breakfast was simply amazing. There were also brochures in the room introducing the surrounding area. Overall, my experience here was very pleasant.

Welcome to our B&B “de Zuiderdijk”.

Words can’t describe how ideallic this place is. It’s like it’s out of a picture book. As we arrived, just metres from our cottage window there were water hen chicks and their mum paddling in the pond. Sanne and her family were very friendly and bring a peace and warmth to this stay that is rare. A highlight of our 12 nights in Dutch airbnbs.

Gastvrij, aardig, hoofdeinde van bed kon omhoog (lekker voor te lezen), de sauna was een meerwaarde, we mochten gebruik maken van de koelkast en in de tuin zitten, hulpvaardig (we hadden een technisch probleem), ontbijt was prima.

Moderne bungalow in Wijdenes

Jan is a very reliable and friendly host!! When life came up with a small problem (nobodies fault) - he reacted instantly and in a very friendly and fair manner. Our stay at this lovely place had been a pleasure. I really recommend to stay at his place: it is cozy and warm, very much light coming in the room and the view is marvelous. And it is a perfect stay if you come with family (trampoline!...sheeps) and/or dogs (garden completely fenced). Thanks Jan, all the best.
