Peebles is nearby with great amenities and there’s heavenly walks right from the door. Please be aware that The Tower is located at the end of a rural track and due care should be taken with speed and approach. The Tower is arranged over 4 floors with steep staircases.

Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

It is in a quiet, rural location, but still close to the M74 so a perfect stop en-route to northern Scotland or southwards to the border and England. Kirkland Cottage is completely self-contained and is attached to our main house in an enclosed, secluded and large garden. Although only two miles from Dumfries Town Centre it is in a quiet, rural location. There is ample parking beside the cottage and a lockable room for storage of bicycles and other leisure equipment. The cottage provides a great base from which to enjoy the many cultural and outdoor activities available in the immediate locality.
