At 1150 feet above sea level Hafod y Rhedwydd is one of the 12 highest houses in Wales and completely off-grid - private water supply, electricity by petrol generator, broadband via satellite - in the Snowdonia National Park and surrounded by National Trust land with amazing views. The cottage lies 8 miles from Betws y Coed on the northern edge of the Migneint, a 200 square mile SSSI and Conservation Area that is home to a rich variety of wildlife including Hen Harriers and polecats.

Old Quirky Character Cottage - Grade II Listed

A Grade II Listed cottage that is old, quirky, quite unique and very original. If you like cottages with character you will love this. If you like modern, characterless boxes please don't even consider it. Located in Tanygrisiau, just outside the historic slate-mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, the cottage is a short walk from local shops, amenities and the village pub. A narrow-gauge heritage steam railway runs along the bottom of the garden and can be seen from all rear-facing windows. Ideally placed for Llechwedd Slate Caverns, zip wires, mountain biking and mountain walks.
