This is honestly the best Airbnb stay we have had so far. The place was exactly what we expected, it was clean, it matched the photos, it was a great size for our family… But what stood out to me the most was the amenities and how well stocked the house was. I honestly felt like I was right at home. Typically, these rental homes have very few things inside. The kitchens hardly have anything to use, there aren’t always enough extra linen, there’s never enough toiletries… But Andrew’s place had an abundance of everything. The kitchen was fully stocked. I literally feel like I was at home or at my grandma’s house! There was everything you could think of to use, more than enough linens, toiletries, condiments, feminine hygiene products, even a pair of extra snow boots! There were fantastic toys available for my 3yr old. An art desk, buckets of toys, board games, sleds… I could go on and on. Definitely a 10 out of 10! We were extremely impressed and would absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay.

As described- nice place on the water great for a nice quiet getaway. I would definitely go back. Amenities are super close by and the grill and fire pit are huge adds for an awesome weekend. Some parts of the house are starting to show age a bit and some simple upgrades like bathroom doorknobs could go a long way, but the place is definitely charming and quaint!

Very beautiful place to stay right on Lake Ontario. Great communication from the host and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

This was our second stay at Hakuna Matata. Another amazing experience for our family! The home is clean, well-appointed with all essentials and then some. Lake access is unbeatable. Location is central to many attractions in the Finger Lakes, too. Host is responsive and wants to make sure your stay is exceptional.

Beautiful lake views! Pluses: This house is located on a hill across the street from Canandaigua Lake with a boathouse right on the water. 4 bedrooms, 21/2 baths. The house was clean and neat, and the host was always responsive. There is an indoor hot tub in a beautiful back room (though we didn’t get a chance to use it). The house is a pleasant short drive to downtown Canandaigua. Things to note: Unique layout due to the octagonal shape of the house. There is a circular staircase in the middle of the house, but the upper area can also be accessed from the back door at the top of the driveway. There are a lot of rules, but they were easy enough to follow. Security deposit is required, which I have found is not typically the case with Airbnb’s. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful place. Host was very responsive. Couldn’t ask for a nicer person. Home was stocked with all you could need.( laundry pods, dishwasher tabs, condiments.) I have no doubt any request I could have made would immediately be honored. Absolutely wonderful home in a beautiful area. I was on a work trip but it was such a nice place it makes me want to bring my family back for vacation. Thank you so much for everything!

Shep's Lake House was fantastic and fit our needs perfectly. I had 3 generations of family in town for Christmas and we wanted to stay together. The house was large enough to house everyone. The hosts went over and above to make sure the guests were comfortable. They decorated so beautifully for Christmas and made it like a home away from home. The location is fantastic. Obviously we were not able to enjoy the lake or outside areas because it was winter but I have to imagine it would be even more fantastic. i would highly recommend!

The apartment is exactly how it is described and pictured! Perfect for two people and a pet. Great location to restaurants and breweries. Everyone was so nice/ helpful and the communication was awesome! Would definitely stay there again in the future

The condo was clean and extremely comfortable. Shaun was a great host: very responsive.

The apartment was clean and quiet and Anarsha was very helpful & quick to answer my questions. I enjoyed the decor and style and there were lots of little extra touches that she added that made me feel at home. Walking distance to restaurants, amusement park and she gave us a welcome gift as well!!

Shaun’s condo unit is very clean and the complex itself is in a great location. Easy to get to the walking path along the lake and walk to great restaurants. Shaun was very responsive with questions. We had a great time!

Great place to stay to be near family for the holiday! Near shops, restaurants, grocery, and expressways. Parking was a breeze, as was getting in and the space was open and inviting. Kitchen is very well stocked…there is a full coffee maker in edition to a Keurig.

We had a lovely stay at this Airbnb! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and personally explained how everything worked and made sure we had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the welcome of Christmas cookies and wine and thoughtful decorations for Christmas. The space was exactly as described—very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect, with restaurants and attractions nearby. There was the added bonus of visiting deer to see right outside the window. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area. I would definitely stay here again!

Sally & Gard were great Hosts. Their home was beautiful and homey, with many comfort details not typically found in other Airbnbs. The pond and wooded setting were specular with the fall foliage on full display during our stay! The Kitchen had everything we needed for our long-term stay and the beds and linens were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return. Thank you Sally & Gard for making our stay special with your lovely home.

Very quiet location, but with a small private beach and historic Lighthouse just in the neighborhood. She provided an Empire State Parks Pass, and Hamlin Beach State Park just 10 miles away, lots of fun. Good beach, picnic areas, paved walking trail along the shore throughout the long park. Two small towns, Hilton and Hamlin to explore, and we found the small Ontario Winery to do some tastings. Apple season with fresh apples and farm fresh corn to sample some of Western Virginia's produce.

The cottage was nice and clean! Christopher was able to quickly resolve minor glitch with the lock very quickly. Will stay again next time we are in the area!

We had a wonderful stay at Tim and Chelsea’s beautiful home in Sea Breeze! The views of Lake Ontario were absolutely stunning; sunrises and sunsets were a daily highlight. The house is beautifully decorated, super cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hosts went above and beyond by leaving us treats and s’mores kits—such a sweet surprise! You can really feel the love and care put into every detail. Can’t wait to come back!

It's a cute place. Smaller but manageable. You need to be able to do stairs as 3 stories. Significant move in issues were addressed quickly and fully by Heidi. Thank you! Back yard area is small. Nice dock to fish or swim off from. Unfortunately there is no wood burning fire pit. Cottages are very close together so privacy during peak tourist times could be an issue. We had no problems in that area. The road down is a bit challenging but we made it fine. There are a few bars/taverns/restaurants nearby. If possible, I would suggest visiting the site first for a better understanding of location and size for planning.

Great rental with lots to do in the nearby area. Kid friendly. Host was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely come back.

We were enchanted by Dans lake house. And found it worth every penny. The bed is comfortable, heater works great and the scene is very laid back. The hotels in the area seem to be of the same roadhouse quality, and we are very happy that the cottage was exactly as described. If one is to pay for a hotel it only makes sense to give to an individual instead of a thankless corporation. It is now on our list and we plan on utilizing his chefs table service in the future. We really got a lot out of being right on the lake - the access was unbeatable. Rented kayaks from Canadaigua Sailboards for a week, though the cabin also has a canoe, and ate many meals and made smores and watched the sun set and ducks swim by. Swam ourselves on the hot days. Great day trips: waterfall hikes near Canadaigua (Grimes Glen then Naples for lunch), Ithaca (downtown shops and gorges hike), Watkins Glen, Corning Glass Museum including glass-making activities. Cute local towns (Geneva, Candaigua, Hammondport) have along-the-lake walks and ice cream options. Enjoyed 'Moonlight Stroll' and live music at Sonnenberg Gardens, plus Good Life Tea shop in downtown Canadaigua. Found a ton of waterfall hikes on AllTrails. Had fun at the Pageant of Steam. Noted concerts at the CMAC nearby but we didn't catch any. The private road that the cabin is on is nice for a walk too, and neighbors were friendly. All the basics are covered and we made breakfast/dinner often. No microwave but everything you need to make meals. Local Wegman's has everything you could want.
