Tabitabi Shinsen | Kyoto Machiya near Nijo Castle

[Tabitabi Shinsen] is a traditional two-storey machiya , which was built in the Taisho era with more than one hundred years history. The name Shinsen comes from one of the oldest famous courtyard in Kyoto during Heian Period, "Shinsenen", which is located near our house. Cette maison traditionnelle (machiya) est située sur l'île centrale de Kyoto, entre 2 rivières à proximité de la gare de Kyoto et du centre-ville. Entièrement rénovée en 2020, elle était jadis une auberge de type ryokan. Elle est composée de quatre appartements. Les appartements du rez-de-chaussée et de l’étage peuvent loger deux groupes de 2-3 personnes confortablement.
