Houseboat Myrtle is a totally self-contained wooden cottage on the water. Permanently Anchored in the Knysna Lagoon, it’s a two minute dinghy ride from the Knysna Waterfront and we’ll give you lessons to get you going on the water. Myrtle is one of the original Knysna houseboats and has a lovely wood finish inside. With its two decks, it’s perfect for lazy days floating on the lagoon. "Bird Song" is named after the host of bird calls that greet you each morning (and the night jars that you hear after dark). It is the perfect 'private bush camp' for a ‘family-of-4’ vacation or for a secluded ‘get-away-from-it-all retreat’ for couples. The architect designed timber structure is set on a slope with views through and over the fynbos and right at the edge of pristine Indigenous Forest. A wood fired fireplace ensures you are (relatively) warm in winter.

The cottage has electricity 24 hours a day, even during loadshedding and backup water supply. The cottage is modern and cozy and comfortable. Set in a green leafy lane, the bird life is abundant and the atmosphere relaxing. Perfect for business travelers and vacation travelers. There is fibre, even during load shedding for uninterrupted work. Secure parking on the property. Hosts are usually on the property to assist if necessary but allow guests total privacy.
