The location is truly as beautiful as the photos show. So many special touches from decor to the spa like bathroom made the stay extra cozy. The house is extremely well stocked, especially the kitchen and the shed! We loved kayaking. Much more shallow than we anticipated which for us was perfect. The stars were visible while in the hot tub at night. We loved all the available spots to sit and relax. We used the fire pit to stay warm one morning while enjoying the sunrise with our coffee. We used the grill for dinner one night as well as dining out at the recommended local spots. The only minor inconveniences were not having screens on the sliding doors, running out of toilet paper (but the DG grocery is close) and the WiFi went out and Robert never responded to my texts. (I was able to locate and restart the router on my own.) All in all it was a wonderful spot for a quick getaway to unwind!

The house is in a quiet neighborhood and very little noise was heard when you’re inside. The house is older and does need some maintenance but nothing that hindered us from having a nice stay! Also, added bonus - no checkout cleaning requirements!

Maria was very communicative and hospitable before and during our stay for anything we had questions about. The house was charming and was the perfect cozy stay during our March weekend at cape Charles! The beds are very comfy! Wish we stayed longer to enjoy more!

Had an absolute blast. Location was great and she was very easy to communicate with. Was so nice to have all the beach necessities. Looking forward to going back especially with the pools open up.

This was out second time staying at this beautiful home. You are walkable to everything! The place is so clean and comfy. It will be a yearly stop for us. We love the beach and smoothies from The Green Cat! Thank you Mark and Allison!

This is the second time we’ve stayed here and both times the space has been well-maintained and clean! It’s feels homey and comfortable. The bed is comfortable, as well!

The captains cottage is very well decorated and equipped. We were three people (my husband and I and our adult daughter). There were great bedroom options for any combination of people. I imagine if you were three unrelated couples that the one large bathroom downstairs could be problematic if you had much older people with you as all four bedrooms are on the second floor. For us it was no problem and it was clear in the listing that this is the case. Everything is TRULY spotless and comfortably/stylishly furnished. Someone clearly has an eye for design. LOVED the back yard privacy and having coffee at the small table in the beautiful bricked secret back garden. The front porch is also lovely - hard to decide between sitting out front or out back! (Screening a small bit of the front porch would be a bonus :) We discovered the local Pickleball group and the four quality local courts - a 6 minute walk from the house. There are fantastic paddling spots and hikes nearby. Loved it!

This is a wonderful beach home within walking distance of the oceanfront. Our extended family enjoyed a fantastic visit. The house is set up perfectly for multiple families with a large gathering space on the top floor next to the kitchen. There are several decks throughout the home to catch the sea breeze and air. Beverly was a great host and responsive to our needs.

Felt right at home! Kitchen had all that we needed, plenty of space, furniture, kitchen table. Beds were very comfortable! Would definitely recommend and we would book here again!!
