had a wonderful stay. Spacious kitchen and living room. plenty of outdoor space too. perfect for our family get away with extra mattresses for additional sleeping needs with younger kids. very peaceful neighborhood with playground a short walk away. 👍🏻

Perfection…in every way. Great communication and Paul was very responsive and accommodating. The place was a slice of heaven and we will definitely be using it every time we travel to Whakatane. Super close to town, with 180 degree ocean views and very respectful quiet neighbours. 10/10 for anyone looking for an amazing place to relax and unwind. Fantastic place to stay. My partner and I enjoyed the fact that we could take our dog to stay with us. It was great being able to walk to the beach and amenities such as the supermarket were close by. I highly recommend this spot for a relaxing weekend away 😊

We had a wonderful stay. Great place with plenty of room for family. Loved the sheltered outdoor area for a bbq and hanging out in the shade. Thanks for the stay. Would come again.

Had a lovely stay albeit we weren’t at the house for very long due to a wedding. We had clear instructions on where to find the key and how to get in the house. From there we were greeted with a tidy home with suitable rooms for our stay. Everything was clean and everyone was happier than expected with our accommodation. Just one thing, we were left with an empty body wash in the shower. Overall, great stay and would be happy to visit again.

I stayed at Glen's self contained cottage for a night on a road trip around the east cape. the cottage with all of its retro fittings was delightful and I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves on the nearby beach. Glen provided a generous continental breakfast including very tasty home made jams. recommended.

Our stay at Ash and Vanesch’s unit was great, very central for the things we wanted to do. The beach was just across the road and the Ōhope club well within walking distance, their menu was good too! We would recommend this stay to anyone however be prepared for a little road noise. Maybe we noticed it because we live in a quiet cul de sac. Thanks Ash and Vanesch.

Jnana was a fantastic host, incredibly responsive and accommodating., we were also able to check in earlier than we expected, so that was wonderful. We would wholeheartedly recommend Jnanas property to anyone looking for a family holiday. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we can't wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Phenomenal location, comfortable, clean, and relaxing. We loved our stay in this beautiful house. The layout has plenty of seating for your entire group with lots of quaint pockets for peaceful viewing of the ocean or the sound. The beachfront access is perfection and I personally loved the windows in the master bedroom. I could stay there forever. There is no central air conditioning but the breeze from the open windows in the summer kept us plenty cool. There is only one plug in the bunk room so charge your phone upstairs. A minor inconvenience for the big payoff of a quiet and gorgeous location. Maggie, our host was very communicative and helpful. We would love to come back and stay again!

Lovely relaxing stay at a classic Kiwi bach. Family holiday with our three kids and we all had a great time kayaking, trying to catch fish, having more success catching mud crabs, going for hikes on the headland, and just relaxing offline. Host Nik is super friendly and responsive, place was exactly what we were expecting and hoping for, and we will be back!! Highly recommend to others who enjoy old school device-free outdoor kids family holidays :)

What a lucky find this is! You instantly feel relaxed as you enter- the smell of the timber, the coziness of the space, a liittle home away from home. The kids love the bunk bed! Everything you need is provided-I love the fact that they use eco-friendly products, and encourage composting/recycling. Both Deborah and Ian have been super helpful, if you do have any questions. Happy to chat with you if you've got the time, and even shared some limes and chilies with us (went great w our ceviche! Thank you!). A great location- short walk to the beach. A very warm welcome by Kay on my arrival. Her holiday home was very well stocked with everything you could imagine! The double beds were very comfortable and her pillows superb. Great I could hear the sea from my bedroom too! Thank you Kay we had a wonderful time away.

The overall experience was very good. Being in a private space, sure helps feeling relaxed and at peace. Enjoy the early sunrise over a cup of coffee and finish enjoying the outdoor tubs with my wife over a glass of champagne was perfect.

A lovely place to stay. The location was perfect, just across the road to the beach and the house was comfortable and clean. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying the beautiful view was a highlight of the trip. Highly recommend.

Amazing house in an even more amazing location. We loved the deck and chairs and easy beach access! Spent a lot of time sitting on deck watching waves, surfers and beach goers. Unit was spotless and kitchen was very well stocked - and I mean very! Loved the Nespresso and frother. Great bed and comfortable living room with a good TV. Had a fabulous dinner at Cadera. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a bit of a splurge for just the two of us but so worth it!

The surrounding native bush, tidy spacious lockwood and all the amenities you could ask for (right on the lake, spa, flying fox, kayaks) and a wonderful host to create an awesome holiday.
