Our large family home is situated in a very quiet residential part of Kirkwall so you can be assured of a restful sleep. We are a 5 - 10 minute walk from the town centre with it's unique local shops and cafes, St Magnus Cathedral, Earl's Palace and Museum. For the whisky lovers we are a short walk from the famous Highland Park Distillery . We are a 5 minute walk from the new Balfour Hospital and Health Centre complex. We love meeting people and welcome guests from all backgrounds into our home.

Your suite with breakfast in the heart of Orkney

Welcome to Heima - Norse for 'at home'. Guests have exclusive use of their own entrance, bathroom, relaxing bedroom and own garden. The separate Breakfast Room has panoramic views. From 18.00-22.00, it is available for carry-in meals with the Sitting Room which has a log fire. Heima is a 19th Century cottage with a 21st Century extension. Hilary and Edward have strong family roots in Orkney. You can expect to be hosted generously with a light touch in the quiet beauty of Orkney.

On the outskirts of the historic town of Stromness in the West Mainland of Orkney, this single-story barn conversion has one bedroom, an open-plan living/dining/kitchen space, and a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. All on one level, the property is wheelchair accessible throughout. It has stunning views across Hoy Sound and out to the open Atlantic. Parking is available right outside, but if you visit without a car, regular buses from Stromness go to all areas of Orkney.

A very warm welcome to Graemeshall House. Dating back to 1626, this former home to the Lairds of Graemeshall now offers luxurious Bed and Breakfast accommodation in an idyllic setting. The property has just been renovated to a very high standard. During a Royal Visit to Orkney in 1956, H.M. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother came to Graemeshall House for afternoon tea. Guests may be assured of a warm welcome and a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Stay with us in our eco home in the rural heart of Orkney. Maes Howe, the Ring of Brodgar, & the Loch of Harray are a short drive away. 20 minutes from Kirkwall, Stromness, & the main tourist sites by car. We are not easily reachable by bus. Dogs are welcome; please bring bedding for them. Breakfast: cereal, milk, fruit juice, tea, coffee, bread, butter, jams, & yoghurt. Check in after 4pm (rarely we may ask you to come a little later.)
