Το "Sihna" είναι εμπνευσμένο από το έθιμο της γιορτής των Σίχνων που τελείται στο Λιτόχωρο ανήμερα των Θεοφανείων. Έχει τις ρίζες του στο Βυζάντιο και συνεχίζεται μέχρι σήμερα. Τα Σίχνα είναι ψηλά κοντάρια με ασημένιο ή χρυσό σταυρό στην κορυφή, που φέρουν πολύχρωμες σημαίες. Πρόκειται για αφιερώματα συντεχνιών και ναυτικών οικογενειών, τα οποία συμμετέχουν με καθορισμένη ιεροτελεστία στον καθαγιασμό των υδάτων στο Λιτόχωρο. Our house is less than ten min walking from the sandy beach, in a quiet full of trees neighborhood, between Platamon (a seaside calmy village which turns to a lively tourist resort during summer time) and Nei Pori (full of life, with a 5 km organized beach, ideal for small children and families). This brand new apartment, on the elevated ground floor of our house, with the big flowered garden, is a lovely place to relax after a full day at the beach or the local sightseening.

I would like to inform all prospective visitors that the apartment located in the village of Mesagkala is recommended for the summer months, mainly because after September 15th the village supermarket and the fast-food place with gyros are no longer open. The nearest villages with a supermarket open all year round and restaurants are about a 12-minute drive away, in Platamonas.
