We had a fantastic stay at the castle. The property was easy to find and the area is beautiful and quiet with forest and fields all around, easy for walks. There is also lots to do in the area, we went clay pigeon shooting close by which was lots of fun. We stayed at the garden cottage which was cosy and had everything we need. The living room with portable dining table was a great use of space and good for family diner and board games. We would love to return and stay again. Thank you for hosting us!

This was an epic Airbnb. Lots of attention to detail. Karen put a lot of thought into the fixturing of the property. This is the great hall section of the castle and is located in the back. It is a wonderful great room and the beds were spacious. The kitchen is outfitted with nice cookware and appliances. Self-catering was a breeze here. The host was very friendly and responsive in her messages. We will definitely be staying here again.

The lodge was unbelievably beautiful and the pictures don’t do it justice. Felt like a dream and the host was great. Made sure we had what we needed for a peaceful and pleasant stay. Probably one of the best views we’ve had while enjoying our breakfast. Would absolutely recommend East Lodge and will have to come back

We had a wonderful stay. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and it was so peaceful. Close to so many attractions. It was a dream come true to stay overnight in a castle and Carola made us feel right at home. Would love to return some day.

We had a fantastic stay with the whole family, including my husband and me, our two kids, their grandparents, and their uncle. From adventures in the garden to hide-and-seek in the spacious apartment and visiting a real castle, many wishes were fulfilled without even having to drive somewhere. We loved it!

My husband and I stayed at the castle for our anniversary and it was magical! The castle along with the surroundings were stunning and the room was perfect for us. John and his wife were beyond kind and made us feel so special on our anniversary. It was a highlight of our trip for sure and I hope to come back in the future!

We had the most wonderful time in this beautiful place. The Old Brewhouse was lovely - very comfortable, cosy and homely. The surrounding gardens and estate are stunning and the chance to watch the wild beavers at work was incredibly special. It is also a brilliant area for birdwatching. We didn't use our car at all - just went on a variety of walks from the cottage. We would love to go back again. Thank you!

The property is truly extraordinary. Breathtaking natural scenery and great value for money. Simply the perfect place to switch off. Admittedly, the property is a bit off the beaten track. But there is pure nature. We were four couples, so eight people, and we still had a spare bedroom. We saw countless rabbits, wild deer, pheasants and squirrels. Then of course there are all the horses, cows and sheep from the farm. it doesn't get much more idyllic than this! Within a radius of 15 minutes to 1.5 hours by car, there are lots of great activities to do. We were there in end april and to our surprise there were very few to no other tourists in the area. Even at attractions such as Belmoral Castle, Glamis Castle or Dunnottar Castle the crowds were really small. The region is definitely far away from over-tourism. Car hire is certainly a must-have. We drove here from Edingburgh. About half of the journey is motorway, after that it's country road. My warmest recommendation - go there!

Our family (including two little ones) had a wonderful stay at David’s castle. It is most definitely an authentic castle experience, not a luxury hotel. Yet it has all the amenities needed for great stay. We stayed on a chilly April day, it was a bit cold when we arrived but once the heat was on the rooms warmed up sufficiently. Since we had to leave early in the morning, David graciously gave us a nighttime tour of the castle. The renovation work his team has completed is remarkable. The roads getting to the castle were good, but the driveway to the castle was a bit bumpy.

Wonderful, unique venue. (You have the tower in the castle, which is extremely modern and comfortable. There are few other "apartments" in the castle, but it's not busy.)

We stayed one night at Menstrie Castle and wish we had booked longer. The apartment was squeaky clean and you can tell a lot of thought and effort has gone into making it what it is. A lovely card was left for us and a delicious Scottish treat also (I am now addicted!). I wish we had more time to explore the local area but would recommend visiting the Wallace Monument. Great views! We hope to be back in the future.
