Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Located on the Pincushion Trail System (which links to the Superior Hiking Trail) there are endless hiking options right out your door. The Sven dome is 5 minutes from downtown Grand Marais where you can eat at amazing restaurants, hear great live music, enjoy time by Lake Superior, and explore beautifully curated local shops. Poplar Creek Retreat is a beautiful, secluded cabin located midway up the Gunflint Trail in Grand Marais, Minnesota. All the modern conveniences with the ambiance of a North Woods cabin, to include frequent visits by moose! The dock is just 60 rods down a private portage to Little Ollie/Poplar Lake with easy access to the BWCA. In the winter, have the luxury of walking right out the door to the start of the renowned Banadad Ski Trail! Few places offer such privacy!

The Barn at Poplar

The Barn at Poplar is located 40 minutes from Grand Marais, just off the Gunflint Trail on beautiful Poplar Lake! You can either enjoy the lake from the deck, screen porch or take the gentle slope down to the dock for easy access to fishing, swimming, or canoeing. The cabin includes four bedrooms, two baths and a fully-equipped kitchen with brand-new appliances. We have a canoe for guest use and there is a public access nearby if you want to bring your own boat.
