Go for a hike on the scenic trails hugging Upper and Lower Thetis lakes. For panoramic views of the lakes and surrounding hills, follow the more challenging trails up Seymour or Scafe hills. In spring, wildflowers dot the hillsides. The beach area of Thetis Lake is perfect for a family picnic or refreshing swim. If you have a canoe, try an early morning paddle and you may even have the lake all to yourself.

Langford Lake is the City's largest lake. It also has the most amenities. Located in the heart of the City of Langford, the lake is a popular swimming, boating, and fishing destination for residents and visitors alike. Numerous boardwalks and shore access points allow for great fishing opportunities while a boat launch on the western shore provides an even better chance to land a trout.

A saltwater lagoon located at the base of the Royal Roads property, next to the Fort Rodd Hill / Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites and a view across Esquimalt Harbour at Dockyard. A migratory bird sanctuary where you could watch crows and seagulls will be prowling around looking for shellfish which they will pick up and drop from a height in order to crack the shells.
