Food Scene
There are probably about 20 cafe's on George Street for coffee, breakfast or lunch. But our personal favourite is La La's due to it's tasty food and roof terrace allowing you to enjoy the sun while having a bite. It does a particularly good eggs benedict and has a delicious fresh salad from across the bar often including feta and butternut squash.

This is the best Thai food we've had outside of Thailand. There is a small restaurant in the back of the Thai market shop, with a small kitchen and a few covers. It doesn't look like there is somewhere to eat out the back when you go into the shop, but the Duck Panang curry is amazing and I'm also particularly fond of the Pad See-Ew.

10 Church RdThis is the best Thai food we've had outside of Thailand. There is a small restaurant in the back of the Thai market shop, with a small kitchen and a few covers. It doesn't look like there is somewhere to eat out the back when you go into the shop, but the Duck Panang curry is amazing and I'm also particularly fond of the Pad See-Ew.
The best bakery in Hove, amazing fresh bread baked every day. Personal favourites are the variety of sausage rolls and interesting pies.

This is a little Italian restaurant with traditional tastes of Italy, you'll often be required to book, but the food has always been lovely.

This is one of our favourite Italian restaurants, always busy and worth booking. Lovely fresh pasta! It also has traditional Italian ice cream with a queue often down the seafront. This is a perfect starting place for a walk along the promenade

This pub has been renovated relatively recently and has a lot to offer. It's also a smokehouse, so serves up fantastic ribs and other meats. It has a good beer selection of Harvey's from the local Lewes brewer and often has live music and live sports to enjoy.

33 Montgomery StThis pub has been renovated relatively recently and has a lot to offer. It's also a smokehouse, so serves up fantastic ribs and other meats. It has a good beer selection of Harvey's from the local Lewes brewer and often has live music and live sports to enjoy.
This is Brighton and Hove's first micropub and the microbrewery is fantastic! There is always a fantastic selection of ales, IPA's and porters as well as interesting ciders. The last trip their I had a delicious porter #5 made by the local brewer Beercraft and my fried enjoyed an Rhubarb Seacider, which was equally tasty in a very different way.

This pub is right on our doorstep, it's a welcoming family pub with shows sky sports and is particularly good when the rugby internationals are on. It always has friendly staff, offers food and often has live music on Saturday evenings. A perfect starting or finishing place if you are staying at ours.

It always has friendly staff, offers food and often has live music on Saturday evenings. A perfect starting or finishing place if you are staying at ours.
This pub has a fantastic beer selection as well great fish food. Have the pub is a bar and the other half a fish restaurant. We've eaten delicious prawns and scallops in here. If you are looking for some fun to finish your night off Casablanca's is our firm favourite! Always has a fantastic live band and has that pleasant underground feel that it's not too popular, but a locals firm favourite away from the big commercial clubs on West Street.

Hove Laws are a perfect spot for a picnic or game of sport, they stretch out along the seafront of Hove looking back towards the city is the beautiful regency buildings and in the other direction the sea is along the horizon. There is often a variety of events and festivals from sport, music and food held here throughout the year.

KingswayHove Laws are a perfect spot for a picnic or game of sport, they stretch out along the seafront of Hove looking back towards the city is the beautiful regency buildings and in the other direction the sea is along the horizon. There is often a variety of events and festivals from sport, music and food held here throughout the year.
The is a huge park within close walking distance to our house. It's great for nice walks and jogs with a path that circles the park and is a firm favourite for local families with picnics and sports being played throughout the many sunny days in Brighton and Hove.

George street offers a little bit of everything, there are many shops from small charity shops to a few mainstream stores as well as the essential places like Boots for pharmaceutical needs. There is free parking on Sundays and on Saturdays there is often different local market stalls selling local produce in organic vegetables as well as cheeses.

It also has a cafe, bar/restaurant in the middle with a large children play area adjacent to a skate park. There is lots to do here for sports enthusiasts and young families alike and it's a stones throw from the sea.

Getting Around
Hove train station is 4 minutes walk from our house with direct trains to London Victoria, Brighton and Southampton Central.
